Metrology Technician / Quality Assurance (m/f/d)
Who we are
Comateq GmbH is an owner-managed company based in Hecklingen (Cochstedt, Saxony-Anhalt) with around 15 employees. As a specialised contract manufacturer, we offer precision CNC machining on 5-axis machining centres, from single parts and prototypes to small series for customers across many industries.
Our standard: manufacture every part as if it were for our own use. Precise, well thought out and on time. With state-of-the-art CAD/CAM technology and an ERP system, we work efficiently and with an eye on the future. The company is in an active growth phase and is currently working towards ISO 9001:2015 certification.
Become our precision expert
As we build up our quality assurance and work towards ISO 9001 certification, we are creating a new key position in the company. As a metrology technician (m/f/d), you make sure our parts not only meet the drawing but exceed every expectation of our customers. You work directly at our machines and in the measuring room, are the go-to person for production and actively bring your quality mindset into processes and projects.
What you will examine closely
Metrology & inspection
- Programming, setting up and operating 3D coordinate measuring machines (e.g. Zeiss, Hexagon) and optical measuring systems
- Measuring parts against technical drawings and CAD geometry using ISO GPS standards
- First article inspections, series inspections and incoming goods inspections
- Creating measuring programs, inspection plans and measurement reports
- Root cause analysis, documenting quality deviations and advising production on corrective actions
Quality assurance & processes
- Maintaining and calibrating all measuring and test equipment and ensuring it is available
- Helping to build and maintain the quality management system to ISO 9001:2015
- Contributing to statistical process control (SPC) and machine capability studies
- Recording measurement and quality data in the ERP system
- Active part in continuous improvement, working closely with production and purchasing
What you bring
Professional qualifications
- Completed technical apprenticeship, ideally as a machinist, precision mechanic or in a related metalworking trade
- Further training as a metrology technician or a comparable qualification (e.g. AUKOM Level II/III) is a plus
- Solid knowledge of operating and programming 3D coordinate measuring machines
- Confident understanding of geometric tolerances to ISO GPS and of technical drawings
- Experience with quality management tools: first article inspection, SPC, inspection planning
- Familiarity with ERP systems and MS Office
- Ideally professional experience in quality assurance at a metalworking company

- Strong quality awareness and a precise, structured way of working
- Initiative and willingness to take on responsibility in a growing company
- Good communication and solution-oriented thinking with production and customers
- Team spirit and openness to new processes, technologies and measuring methods
- Good written and spoken German; English is a plus
